Series

Black and Hollis discover yet another downside to the Group on Millennium (9 p.m. Fri., Fox). Sammo's martial arts master (guest Mako) comes to visit at a really inconvenient time on Martial Law (9 p.m. Sat., CBS). Bart ruins Springfield's chances to host the Olympics and is assigned to do community work at the Retirement Castle as punishment on The Simpsons (8 p.m. Sun., Fox). David Duchovny wrote and directed this week's episode of The X-Files (9 p.m. Sun., Fox), about an old-time Negro League baseball phenom who played for the Roswell team and who may have actually been -- yes, an alien. Masterpiece Theatre (check local times, Sun., PBS) presents "Frenchman's Creek," an adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's novel about a 17th century British noblewoman (Tara Fitzgerald) who falls in love with a French pirate (Anthony Delon). On The Awful Truth (9 p.m. EDT/10 PDT, Sun., Bravo), Michael Moore brings a group of ex-smokers who've lost their larynxes to cancer Christmas caroling on the doorsteps of cigarette company execs.

Specials

ABC rides the box-office success of "The Matrix" by slotting the 1996 Keanu Reeves thriller Chain Reaction (9 p.m. Sat., ABC). Titanic: Answers From the Abyss (8 p.m. Sun., Discovery) analyzes the structure of the ship and all the forensic evidence in excruciating detail and comes to the conclusion that -- it sank. The new cable movie Love Songs (8 p.m. Sun., Showtime) is a trio of tales, set in an African-American neighborhood and written by playwright Charles Fuller, about three good guys trying to do the right thing. The vignettes are directed by and star Robert Townsend, Andre Braugher and Louis Gossett Jr. Contrary to its title, the new TV movie Durango (9 p.m. Sun., CBS) is not set in the Old West, but rather in Ireland in 1939. A group of ranchers undertakes a 40-mile cattle drive rather than sell to an unscrupulous local buyer. Matt Keesler, Patrick Bergin and Brenda Fricker star.
