![]() In 1985, had $8 in checking account. Same year, reluctantly entered newspaper business at News America Syndicate as an infographics artist. Since then has worked at the Los Angeles Daily News, King Features/North American Syndicate, GT Bicycle Company (as in-house art director), the Chicago Tribune and the Albuquerque Tribune. In 1988, graduated with an M.A. in Drawing & Painting/Printmaking from Cal State Fullerton. Won Scripps Howard Artist of the Year three-years running ('90-'92) and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1992 (an honor that eliminates you from further competition). Has won SND (Society of Newspaper Designers) awards for infographics, illustrations and design. In 1993, won a Bronze and Silver award in SND for design. In 1994, won two Silver awards for design. Today, designs and art directs Wild Life, the Albuquerque Tribune's entertainment tab, and is enjoying his most important and challenging lifetime work, his 10-month-old daughter Anica, with his wife Dorothy. |
