To the extent that spirit is a figment of the metaphysical imagination, it can reside just as easily on a hard drive as it already does in the imagination. But that's a glib response. Perhaps I should leave this one to Erik Davis, Terence McKenna, and other theologians of siliconsciousness; Information Age metaphysics isn't my bailiwick.
