Poet Marilyn Chin is the author of two books, “Dwarf Bamboo” and “The Phoenix Gone, The Terrace Empty.” Born in Hong Kong and raised in Oregon, educated at the University of Massachusetts and the University of Iowa, Ms. Chin articulates the complications of intercultural existence. Her work encompases both her personal experiences as well as that of her ancestors, friends, and family.
