An ad George Bush should love — thanks to you

Yes, Salon readers, there is a brand-new fund to support an anti-SUV ad campaign.

Topics:

Wow.

Salon and I have been flooded with hundreds of e-mails from readers in response to yesterday’s column, “I helped blow up a Bali nightclub — by driving my SUV to work every day!” The column called for a citizens’ ad campaign aimed at getting people to stop driving gas-guzzling cars and SUVs — and readers loved the idea.

To make it happen, we’ve created a special fund. If you would like to contribute, please send your donations to:

SUV Ad Fund/A Band Apart 7966 Beverly Blvd. 2nd Floor Los Angeles, CA 90048

And if you’d like to contribute using PayPal, click here.

This is really exciting. Let’s do our best to get these ads on the air — and those dreadful vehicles off the road. Thank you so much for taking a stand.
