Daily Download: “What I Say and What I Mean,” The Like
Music from an L.A. buzz band of three teenage girls.
Salon StaffTopics: Entertainment News
L.A. band The Like is made up of three of the best-connected young ladies in the music industry: Singer/guitarist Z Berg, bassist Charlotte Froom and drummer Tennessee Thomas are the daughters of powerhouse A&R man Tony Berg, genius producer Mitchell Froom and Elvis Costello drummer Pete Thomas, respectively. Which is not to say that their deal with Dreamworks was just a matter of networking: Nepotism ain’t what it used to be — just ask Martha Wainwright — and the dads passed on plenty of talent along with all those contacts.
