Mike Bloomberg’s coming-out story
A lesbian politician welcomes the New York mayor to her team.
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been called many things, but this is probably a first.
“He has become part of the group of people that I am part [of] — the gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual community,” said former city councilwoman Margarita Lopez during a neighborhood ceremony yesterday. “And I make him an honorary lesbian today,” Lopez added.
No word yet on whether the mayor will now hang out and watch “The L Word” with City Council speaker Christine Quinn.
