Bush to veto Iraq withdrawal plan tonight.
This morning, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino charged Democrats with engaging in a “trumped-up political stunt” by arranging for Congress’ Iraq war withdrawal timeline to hit the president’s desk on the fourth anniversary of his “Mission Accomplished” speech.
A short while later, the White House told reporters that the president will be vetoing the bill this afternoon, right after he returns from Florida, where he made a high-visibility appearance at the U.S. Central Command, and just before he goes before the TV cameras for a brief speech to the nation.
