The last Friday in July is a special day. A day to celebrate those without whom the world as we know it would be one big blue screen error message.
Today is the last Friday in July. This means, as Cory Doctorow reminds us at Boing Boing, that today is System Administrator Appreciation Day.
If we understand contemporary globalization as a process that is in part driven by the emergence of a global network of computers, then it is no understatement to say that sysadmins make the world go ’round. Bow down before their might and swear fealty. They deserve it.
