When “Weeds” returns for its third season (10 p.m. EDT on Showtime), Nancy and Conrad are being held at gunpoint, Silas has just been pulled over by the cops with his car trunk full of pot, and Shane is running away with Andy’s crazy ex-girlfriend. Oh yeah, and Peter is dead, remember? But nobody cares, thanks to the quality “MILF”weed they’re smoking. Afterward, don’t miss David Duchovny in another smart, edgy Showtime comedy, “Californication” (10:30 p.m. EDT), in which a reckless, feckless middle-aged novelist struggles to drink and screw away his writer’s block.

Also…

The third season finale of “Hell’s Kitchen” (9 p.m. EDT on Fox) pits Bonnie, a young, inexperienced chef in desperate need of a cooking course, against Rock, an experienced chef in desperate need of an anger management course. Meanwhile, “The Hills” are alive with the sound of Heidi and LC fighting (third season premieres 10 p.m. EDT on MTV). These two former BFFs hate each other now — and we can definitely relate to how they both feel. And if you’ve been wondering why everyone is mesmerized by meerkats, a recap of the first two seasons of “Meerkat Manor” airs at 9 p.m. EDT on Animal Planet.
