Donnie and Marie Osmond are hosting the “Miss USA” pageant (Friday at 9 p.m. EDT on NBC)? Are we reading that right, or did we get beamed back to the ’70s? That sounds like the TV event of our dreams… when we were 8 years old, that is. But yes, there are still swimsuit, evening gown and interview competitions, the abs are just firmer than they used to be. What we really want to know is, what do these women spend the rest of the year doing, besides Pilates? Here’s hoping that Donnie wears his purple socks, and Marie comes out in an elaborate wooden dress. (Does anyone else remember her wooden dress, or are we creating false memories again?)
