Begich takes lead over Stevens
The latest round of votes counted erases Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens' advantage over his Democratic challenger.
After 60,000 votes were tallied on Wednesday, Democrat Mark Begich now holds a slim lead over incumbent Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens.
After Election Day, Stevens had led by around 3,000 votes. Now, he trails Begich by 814. The actual tally is 132,196 to 131,382. About 40,000 ballots remain to be counted, according to the Anchorage Daily News.
