Dear readers: Can we talk?
Join me for a webcast on sickness, health and living in the space between
By Mary Elizabeth WilliamsTopics: Inside Salon
I want to talk to you, Salon Core members, and, importantly, would-be Salon Core members. I mean, I really want to talk to you.
For a long time now, as I’ve been chronicling my experience with Stage 4 cancer and life in a Phase 1 clinical trial, you’ve been right there with me. You’ve been there from my harrowing initial diagnosis to my recent, thrilling remission. And along the way, as I’ve written about the trauma of surgery and the reasons people hide their illnesses, you’ve emailed and tweeted and told me your own amazing stories. I am so honored to be part of this conversation, and so grateful for your participation in it.
On Wednesday, March 28, at 9 p.m. ET, I’ll be webcasting my heart out for you live and direct from my gloriously appointed living room. I hope that you’ll join me, not just so that I won’t be alone on the Internet again. We can talk about our experiences with illness, the politics of healthcare, the way facing mortality changes your worldview, and compare how gross our side effects are. I also take musical requests and enjoy showing off my scars. And if that isn’t incentive to become a member, really, what is?
So meet here Wednesday night!
