NEW YORK (AP) — “Suits” is bringing in a new skirt.

Gabriel Macht says his wife, Jacinda Barrett, has an arc in the show’s second season, which premieres Thursday on the USA Network.

Macht plays hotshot litigator Harvey Specter in the dramedy. He hires Mike Ross, played by Patrick J. Adams, as his associate even though he knows Ross lacks a law degree, and then both try to hide that from the firm.

In an interview Wednesday with The Associated Press, Macht said Barrett is playing Zoe, a trial expert who has a history with Specter. He says she’s called in when Specter is accused of burying trial evidence.

Macht calls the characters a “potential romantic pair” and says viewers learn why it didn’t work out. He also says Zoe puts the egotistical, womanizing Specter “in his place.”
