Space porn: These images are (quite literally) out of this world
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A former bookkeeper for the Little Sisters of the Poor has been sentenced to 27 months in prison and ordered to pay $364,000 in restitution for embezzling money from the Roman Catholic religious order she used to buy herself a new car and other items.
Federal Judge Joseph H. McKinley told 54-year-old Mary “Kathy” Montfort on Tuesday that she was getting one of the lesser sentences available, in part because he wanted to ensure as much money gets paid back to the religious order as possible.
Montfort pleaded guilty in April to taking the money by forging the names of nuns in writing 43 checks on the organization’s account between April 2010 and November 2011. Montfort apologized to the nuns at Tuesday’s hearing and in a letter.

40 years ago the Apollo 8 mission flew up to the moon, orbited it ten times and then returned to Earth. This picture was taken from that flight and shows the Earth as it seemingly rises in similar fashion to a sunrise.
Sunrise from Expedition 36
NASA Flight Engineer Karen L. Nyberg of Expedition 36 took this photo of the sun rising -- a sight they saw nearly 16 times per day due to the speed of the International Space Station's orbit around the earth.
