The Ohio Secretary of State has appealed to the Supreme Court
Jon Husted, the Ohio Secretary of State, says he will appeal to the Supreme Court over a ruling that expanded early voting in the state.
The Sixth Circuit had restored early voting throughout the state, ruling that voters would be “irreparably injured” if they couldn’t vote before Election Day, over Nov. 3-6. Husted had implemented rules to restrict early voting to military and overseas voters.
“This is an unprecedented intrusion by the federal courts into how states run elections, and because of its impact on all 50 states as to who and how elections will be run in America, we are asking the Supreme Court to step in and allow Ohioans to run Ohio elections,” Husted said in a statement.
