PAULSBORO, N.J. (AP) — A delicate cleanup and investigation await after a train derailment in New Jersey sent a hazardous gas spewing into the air, sickening dozens.

Seven cars from a freight train derailed Friday morning as they crossed a swing-style bridge in Paulsboro, an industrial town near Philadelphia International Airport. The bridge partially collapsed and four tanker cars were plunged partially into Mantua Creek below.

One of the cars ruptured, releasing vinyl chloride into the air.

More than 70 people who live or work nearby sought medical attention, though none had life-threatening conditions. There were new evacuations Friday evening as the level of chemicals rose.

Investigators are trying to determine what caused the accident. A large crane is being brought from New York Harbor to move the cars off the bridge.
