SF home searched in 1984 disappearance of boy

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — San Francisco police have searched a home in San Francisco in connection with the disappearance of a 10-year-old boy nearly 30 years ago.

A law enforcement official tells The Associated Press that investigators were digging in the backyard and the basement of the home near the city’s Haight-Ashbury district Tuesday. They were looking for evidence in the 1984 disappearance of Kevin Collins.

The official spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the search warrant in the case was sealed.

The official says the home was the home of a person who was once a “person of interest” in the case.

Collins was last seen leaving basketball practice at St. Agnes School.

  • People capitalize on the uprising -- selling flags, beer, gas masks, sky lanterns and spray paint to name just a few of the popular items.

  • On Monday morning, June 11, the police execute a strong offensive. Many plain-clothed police officers, like the ones seen here, clash with protesters in the side streets away from the main stand-off in Taksim.

  • The authorities seem to be most aggressive in the night, pushing protesters away from the square and park. After being teargassed this young woman catches her breath with other protesters on Siraselviler Street.
