The CW's sorely missed show about the teenage sleuth "Veronica Mars" made headlines last week when series creator Rob Thomas raised $2 million to fund a movie in less than 12 hours -- all through fan donations via Kickstarter.

The project was hailed as a monumental success, inspiring others in the industry to think more indie.

It seems that the success has made Thomas more ambitious as well: Thomas told TVLine that "Veronica will survive the movie." (Though, “I can’t promise anyone else does, though," he added).

"But there will be an opportunity for Veronica do to her thing again," he said. When asked if that meant a sequel or more episodes via Netflix, Thomas admitted: “I’d be lying if I didn’t say I didn’t think of those things. I am hopeful it is the birth of [much more] 'Veronica Mars.'
