“Girls” creator Lena Dunham took to Twitter today to answer a question that
everyone no one has been waiting for her to answer: Who does she want to see win New York City’s mayoral race? The answer is City Council Speaker Christine Quinn. Dunham tweeted:
I'm passionate about the idea of the first woman mayor. Plus @ChrisCQuinn is tough, results oriented & can handle a City as complex as NY— Lena Dunham (@lenadunham) July 11, 2013
And in case you were wondering, Dunham also supports Scott Stringer for comptroller:
I'm a native New Yorker & I like my leaders with grit, integrity & executive realness. That's why I support @stringer2013 for Comptroller.— Lena Dunham (@lenadunham) July 11, 2013
Coincidentally, Dunham’s close friend Audrey Gelman, girlfriend of photographer Terry Richardson and season two “Girls” star, used to work for Stringer and now works with a firm used by Quinn’s campaign. When TPM’s Hunter Walker pointed this out, Dunham responded, exclaiming, “I have my own brain!“

Like little stars.
World's best pie apple. Essential for Tarte Tatin. Has five prominent ribs.
So pretty. So early. So ephemeral. Tastes like strawberry candy (slightly).
My personal fave. Ultra-crisp. Graham cracker flavor. Should be famous. Isn't.
High flavored with notes of blood orange and allspice. Very rare.
Jefferson's favorite. The best all-purpose American apple.
New Hampshire's native son has a grizzled appearance and a strangely addictive curry flavor. Very, very rare.
Makes the best hard cider in America. Soon to be famous.
Freak seedling found in an Oregon field in the '60s has pink flesh and a fragrant strawberry snap. Makes a killer rose cider.
Ben Franklin's favorite. Queen Victoria's favorite. Only apple native to NYC.
Really does taste like pineapple.
