Lena Dunham endorses Christine Quinn for New York City mayor

The "Girls" creator wants to see a female take the lead

"Girls" creator Lena Dunham took to Twitter today to answer a question that everyone no one has been waiting for her to answer: Who does she want to see win New York City's mayoral race? The answer is City Council Speaker Christine Quinn. Dunham tweeted:

And in case you were wondering, Dunham also supports Scott Stringer for comptroller:

Coincidentally, Dunham's close friend Audrey Gelman, girlfriend of photographer Terry Richardson and season two "Girls" star, used to work for Stringer and now works with a firm used by Quinn's campaign. When TPM's Hunter Walker pointed this out, Dunham responded, exclaiming, "I have my own brain!"
