Doctors are attributing Chris Brown's collapse on Friday night to "intense fatigue and extreme emotional stress." The 24 year-old singer experienced a non-epileptic seizure at a recording studio in Los Angeles, though he reportedly refused immediate treatment.

“His doctor tended to him this afternoon and attributes the NES to intense fatigue and extreme emotional stress, both due to the continued onslaught of unfounded legal matters and the nonstop negativity,” said Brown's rep in a statement.

Brown indeed has been a lightning rod for negativity, attracting ire from media outlets and fans for, among other incidents, his assault against Rihanna, altercation with Frank Ocean and his God delusion. Most recently, he suggested that he might retire from music after the release of his upcoming album, "X," saying via Twitter: “Don't worry mainstream America. After this X album, it'll probably be my last album."
