Troubled star Lindsay Lohan, who has been to rehab six times and became a tabloid staple for her erratic behavior, on Sunday night sat down with Oprah for a candid discussion about her issues.

"Are you an addict?" Winfrey asked point-blank, to which Lohan responded, "Yes." The actress admitted that she's addicted to alcohol, which has "been a gateway to other things," like cocaine.

Lohan, who has been sober for the "past few months," attributes her struggle with a chaotic childhood and success at such a young age. However, the actress doesn't blame her parents for her issues: "I hate the bad rap that people give my parents," she said. "Because they are just parents, really, at the end of the day trying to stand up for their daughter and themselves."

The actress is in "a different headspace" now, however, and is ready to "work really hard and stay focused and prove myself in the way that I did before in the past and I lost. I have to regain the trust of people in my career that have their doubts and I fully respect that on their behalf."
