David Koch has said in the past that he doesn't agree with the Republican Party on a number of social issues, like gay marriage, and has remained mum about his personal views on abortion. Instead, Koch tends to focus his public comments justifying his massive political expenditures on things like "free enterprise."
But, as Politico revealed in a Thursday report and as RH Reality Check notes, the Koch brothers' "secret bank" spent $8.2 million in 2012 funding a virulently anti-choice and anti-LGBT rights group, the Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC).
CWALAC was a strong supporter of Texas' draconian antiabortion omnibus bill, calling the pre-viability abortion ban and regulations designed to shutter reproductive health clinics and deny thousands of women basic healthcare "the human rights issue of our time."
On gay marriage, the group states that it "believes that marriage consists of one man and one woman. We seek to protect and support the Biblical design of marriage and the gift of children."
