Luckiest kids ever get day off for great weather

The forecast calls for mild temperatures and sunny skies

Students at Calvary Christian School in Columbus, Georgia, don't have to go to school today on account of it being a really nice day outside.

"In the late 1980s, I was calling school off one winter day because of the terrible weather," Headmaster Len McWilliams told the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer. "The thought occurred to me that it would be great to call school off some day because it was too beautiful a day to go to school."

Since he's retiring at the end of the year -- and it really is supposed to be beautiful today -- McWilliams earlier this week decided to go ahead and cancel classes.

Forecasts at the time of McWilliams' announcement were calling for temperatures in the low 80s. The current weather in Columbus is a bit milder, but still ideal for spending the day outdoors:
