Watch Bryan Cranston freak out in the "Godzilla" trailer

Joe Brady is broken down to histrionics in the face of the monster

Bryan Cranston has definitely left his calculating, calm-headed "Breaking Bad" antihero Heisenberg behind, turning into a terrified, panicked scientist Joe Brady in Gareth Edwards' upcoming "Godzilla" remake.

"You're not fooling anybody when you say that what happened was a natural disaster," Cranston yells as the world around him crumbles. "You're lying! It was not an earthquake, it wasn't a typhoon, because what's really happening is that you're hiding something out there. And it is going to send us back to the Stone Age!"

The trailer doesn't give us a great look at the monster, but it's got massive spikes like a Stegosaurus (though, presumably, is not an herbivore) and a roar that can split the Earth.

"Godzilla" comes out May 16. Watch the trailer below.
