In what Jon Stewart has hailed as "maybe the best 40 minutes any legislative chamber anywhere in the country has ever spent," the New York State Senate has passed a bill making yogurt -- not pretzels, and not yogurt-covered pretzels, just yogurt -- the state's official snack.
It was a debate for the ages and a microcosm of our nation's political environment: there was discussion of potential yogurt discrimination, a hearty health debate and economic concerns.
