Following a video of Reese Witherspoon getting sloppy in an elevator at the Met Ball, there is now footage of singer Solange Knowles violently attacking her brother-in-law, rapper Jay Z, at an after party for the same event.

In a disturbing surveillance video obtained by TMZ, Beyoncé Knowles looks on as her sister assaults her husband in an elevator at the Standard Hotel. A bodyguard get involved, holding Solange back, but she continues to throw punches and kicks at the rapper. The guard then hits the emergency stop switch on the 12th floor, according to TMZ, "presumably to keep the fight private."

It's a sudden, piercing pinprick of the bubble of perfection formed around the Knowles sisters, but then again, the elevators seem to have that effect on otherwise-composed stars. To you and I, they may be elegant vehicles meant to transport people from one floor of the world's classiest institutions to another, but for celebrities, the elevators of the Met Ball are the seedy alleyway where secrets are unloaded and the gloves come off.
