Last night's guest on "The Colbert Report" was the ever-brilliant Sir Patrick Stewart, there to discuss his new movie "X-Men: Days of Future Past." (Stephen Colbert was all smiles, and nearly out of character, faced with the man who played Jean-Luc Picard on "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and also plays Professor Xavier in "X-Men.")

The two discuss time travel, the major theme of "X-Men: Days of Future Past." Sir Patrick Stewart tells Colbert that if he could tell young Patrick Stewart (who was a prefect and head boy at school) something it would be to be "Cheer the fuck up!"

Colbert and Stewart also discuss the "Harry Potter" franchise, a sore subject for Stewart, who was not asked to appear in the films. "Because, I mean, Ian McKellen and myself, wouldn't you think we were shoo-ins for the 'Harry Potter' movies?" Stewart joked.

Patrick Stewart may not have been a wizard, but he is a knight. Colbert is curious if there are any perks to being Sir Patrick Stewart. Turns out that he may not get "20 percent of figgy pudding," but there is a surprising perk. Watch the entire interview below:
