Jon Stewart demonstrates the impossibility of discussing the Israel-Gaza conflict

"You know what? F*ck it."

In last night's "Daily Show," Jon Stewart indirectly addressed critics of his previous segments about the Israel and Gaza conflict.

"Look, obviously there are many strong opinions on this issue," Stewart said. "But just merely mentioning Israel, or questioning in any way the effectiveness or humanity of Israel's policies is not the same thing as being pro-Hamas."

And while the conclusion of the segment -- not talking about Israel at all -- is not the desired outcome (we need nuanced discussion, and not censorship of opposing views), the segment captured how difficult it is in the U.S. to discuss this conflict: the extreme polarized views and the fervor that each side holds.
