Scott Walker, the Tea Party Republican whose signature anti-union law inspired a failed recall effort in 2012 and who was a top Democratic target this year, has defeated Democratic challenger Mary Burke, according to the Associated Press.

Walker, a potential 2016 GOP presidential contender, was at substantial risk of losing his seat this year, with polls showing a tight race between the incumbent and Burke. But for the third time in four years, Walker has prevailed, and with his victory, speculation surrounding a national bid for office is sure to increase.
