Eminem is no stranger to controversy, which is exactly what he's encountering over a new freestyle video he released on Monday to promote his upcoming greatest hits compilation, "Shady XV." The rapper drops plenty of names throughout the 7-minute clip, but he also mixes in multiple references to acts of violence -- specifically violence he would commit "like Ray Rice" against singer Lana Del Rey:
But I may fight for gay rights, especially if they dyke is more of a knockout than Janay Rice/ Play nice? Bitch I’ll punch Lana Del Rey right in the face twice, like Ray Rice in broad daylight in the plain sight of the elevator surveillance/ ’Til her head is banging on the railing, then celebrate with the Ravens.
Del Rey has not responded to the reference. Singer Azealia Banks, however, fired back promptly on Twitter, reaching out directly to Del Rey and saying she would "personally punch [Eminem] in the mouth." Banks added:

The February attack on Janay Rice has already become pop cultural fodder, despite the family's pleas for privacy. Last month, Rice responded to the trend of people using the incident as Halloween costume inspiration, tweeting, "It's sad, that my suffering amuses others."
