Not only is Stephen Colbert a "Lord of the Rings" fan, he is the self-proclaimed "original fan of 'Star Wars.'" And as the original fan, Colbert was, of course, jazzed over the first teaser for "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens."
However, he was not thrilled about the rather critical response to the trailer, which included fans mocking the newly designed light saber. Colbert is embracing the new design, and he explains why with a white board and "science" below:
