Laura Ingraham's vile "skinhead" analogy: Saying the Pledge of Allegiance in Arabic is just like being a neo-Nazi

"Most people who love this country love it enough to speak the language"

An upstate New York school has apologized for allowing a student to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in Arabic as part of the morning announcements, after the District Superintendent received a number of complaints from Jewish parents and from people who had lost relatives to the war in Afghanistan. The recitation was part of National Foreign Language Week, during which the school decided to have students recite the Pledge of Allegiance in a different language each day.

On Friday's broadcast of "The Laura Ingraham Show," host Laura Ingraham compared the recitation (which we can't even begin to believe is garnering national attention) with the idea of a "skinhead" (we assume she is referring to white supremacists) reciting the Pledge.

"What if the skinheads want to do the pledge of allegiance? Are we gonna do that too? Okay, let them stand up with a-- you know, to some people that would be offensive. Are we gonna let them do that?"

"How about just celebrate the country? How about just celebrate America? Here's America, here's our pledge, say it in English. Why is that not enough to celebrate? We have to celebrate all the races, all the cultures. Do that in Social Studies! ... Most people who love this country love it enough to speak the language."
