When Fox News correspondents aren't occupied with more pressing matters like "Pants-ghazi" (that time one of their female anchors didn't wear a dress), they're hounding the White House Administration on the issue of poverty. So you'd think the team would be super happy about President Obama conducting an entire forum at Georgetown on the topic of poverty this week -- alongside the head of the Conservative American Enterprise Institute, no less. Nope.

Jon Stewart shredded Fox News' "rich buffet of bullshit" on Wednesday's "Daily Show," noting how the only thing the team seemed to pay any attention to from President Obama's forum was when he alluded to the network's perpetuation of negative stereotypes about the poor.

“I think the effort to suggest that the poor are sponges, leeches, don’t want to work, are lazy, are undeserving, got traction,” Obama said at the Georgetown University forum. “I have to say that if you watch FOX News on a regular basis, it is a constant menu. They will find folks who make me mad. I don’t even know where they find them. ‘I don’t want to work, I just want a free Obamaphone or whatever.'”

Stewart fired back at Fox News, likening the network's response to a bunch of college students at a commencement ceremony: "Yep, just like college students at a four-hour commencement, Fox News basically pays no attention until they hear their own names," he said. “It sounds to me like the president has a remarkably firm grasp on your business model there, Fox.”

The "Daily Show" host went on to catch Fox Business' deeply "removed from reality" Stuart Varney in a lie. The correspondent had stated that neither he nor his network had ever set out to insult the poor. But Stewart's clips told another story.

“How f*cking removed from reality is Fox’s perception of their own coverage on poverty? The main defender of your network’s attitude towards those in poverty is the main offender,” Stewart said “He does segments that would make Ebenezer Scrooge go, ‘Hey, take it easy, these are people we’re talking about.'”
