Talking to PopSugar this week, Amy Schumer described her cameo on this season of “The Bachelorette” — during which she famously called out contestant J.J. for being "a turd" — as “totally dark.”

"They just pump booze into people and are like, 'Perform! And do this thing you've never done before!'" Schumer recalled of the show’s group dates, one of which involved Schumer coaching the guys in stand-up comedy. "I love that show, but it was totally dark.”

"The contestants are lab rats; [producers] really manipulate you and just mess with you," she added. "I mean, it's such a clearly bad idea to go on that show. Some of them want to find love, but some of them just want to be the next Bachelor.”

Revealing that she wouldn’t have gone on the show if the contestants had picked Britt to be Bachelorette, Schumer also weighed in on the show’s absurd double standard when it comes to depicting male and female sexuality. Referencing Kaitlyn’s interaction with misogynist garbage-person Ian, Schumer said: "She's not really responding to him or whatever, and he's like, 'I have sex with a lot of women.' If a girl said that, everyone would be like, 'This disgusting whore.’”

ABC has recently been courting Schumer to be the next Bachelorette, and while these sorts of negative remarks don't bode well for the "Amy for Bachelorette 2016" campaign (which I am single-handedly spearheading), there's still hope. Schumer recently told EW that she would seriously consider the gig under two conditions: "I would do it if I could be myself, and I would need some hand in the editing."
