Earlier this month, a CNN poll from New Hampshire showed Bernie Sanders had overtaken Hillary Clinton. Many wondered if this was just a fluke. It now looks like it wasn't. A second poll, from Public Policy Polling, shows Bernie Sanders leading Clinton 42 to 35 percent.
Breaking the poll down, it's clear where the candidates' strengths and weaknesses are. Sanders has a much larger favorability rating among younger voters between the ages of 18 and 45, with a 25-point spread:
There is also something else happening that was not predicted by pundits. The poll shows that even among self-described moderates, Sanders is leading Clinton:
This flies in the face of early predictions that Sanders would be unable to gain traction outside the left-wing of the Democratic base.
