After one-time Twitter foes Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift performed a sizzling rendition of “Bad Blood” together, host Miley Cyrus asked, with an aw shucks grin: “What other girl beefs will be resolved on our stage tonight?”
Not her own, it turns out; Moments later, after receiving her award for Best Hip Hop Video, Nicki Minaj finished her speech by narrowing her eyes, aiming her death stare at Cyrus and proclaiming: "And now, back to this bitch that had a lot to say about me in the press. Miley what’s good?”
Cyrus, clearly thrown off guard, responded: “We’re all in this industry. We all do interviews. We all know how they manipulate sh*t. Nicki, congratulations."
Cyrus inflamed Minaj’s ire a few days ago when she made some tone deaf remarks about Minaj and race in a New York Times interview. While there is speculation that the tussle may have been scripted, that doesn’t make watching the back-and-forth — including the horrified look on Cyrus' face — any less uncomfortable. Watch below:
