Today is October 21st, 2015, the date that Marty McFly, Doc Brown and Jennifer Parker travel to in 1989's “Back to the Future 2." It's also the day that brands (both those featured in the film and those unabashedly unconnected to the film) finally get to unveil their long-awaited "Back to the Future" advertising tie-ins, or at very least celebrate the occasion with some lamely punny self-promotional tweets. Here’s a look at some of what’s out there:
Good news, time travelers! You can now update your Ford Focus and Fiesta with a ‘flux capacitor.'
“Pepsi Perfect” is actually, finally, on the market (and much to fans' chagrin, it's already sold out).
USA Today is selling copies of the paper that was featured in the film.
Universal released a fake trailer for "Jaws 19."
Lyft is offering free DeLorean rides, like a boss.
In perhaps the best spot out there, Toyota made an epic 5-minute ad featuring Marty McFly and Doc Brown.
Twitter, meanwhile, is a goddamn free-for-all:
Even the politicians are getting on board:
Happy corporate-sponsored future, y'all.
