It’s oddly refreshing to learn that “Pharma-Bro” (yawn) Martin Shkreli is keeping busy while out on bail, palming a lowball glass of red wine, and pitifully chirping Ghostface Killah—or as Shkreli calls him, Dennis.
Ghostface called out Shkreli in a brief interview with TMZ last week, calling the disgraced Turing CEO a “shithead.”
“You don’t take an AIDS pill that you had for seven dollars, and then make it like 800 dollars,” Ghostface said in the video. “You don’t do that like that, I don’t care if you bought [Once Upon a Time in Shaolin],” the single-copy Wu-Tang Clan album Shkreli purchased for $2 million in 2015.
In response, Shkreli brought three of his tallest friends and a sea-legged cameraperson to what appears to be a sparsely decorated motel room to make this hilariously DIY video, released today by TMZ.
One of the North Face-hoodied “goons” drinks Hennessy straight out of the bottle—through his mask, no less—while the other two interject with suspiciously inorganic racial slurs and vague threats ("You'll be a ghost for real, mufucka").
“I’ll call you by your government name,” Shkreli begins, before calling Dennis “an old man who’s lost his relevance and you’re trying to reclaim the spotlight from my spotlight.”
“If you ever say some dumb shit again, this album—this ‘Shaolin’—I’m gonna erase all your shit from this album,” he continues. “I’m gonna erase you from the record books of rap. You’re gonna be done. You’re my son. You have to listen to me. I butter your bread. You understand me?”
He then calls cocaine “some of that China white” (which is actually the street name for a deadly form of heroin) before ending, “Don’t ever fucking mention my name again, or there’ll be more of a price to pay than just this video.” And what could possibly be pricier than a half-drunk late-night diss video?
