This is the Seth Meyers piece that best explains Donald Trump's buffoonery

"Trump talks about issues in the vague way middle schoolers give reports on books they haven't read"

"Late Night" host Seth Meyers took a "Closer Look" at Donald Trump's comments made during an MSNBC town hall Wednesday that abortion should be punishable.

"Trump talks about issues in the vague way middle schoolers give reports on books they haven't read," Meyers said. But "(Chris) Matthews would literally sit there in that room all day long before letting Trump not answer that question."

"Trump tried so hard to dodge that question, I thought he was gonna throw to commercial," Meyers said, referring to the GOP frontrunner's repeated non-answers.

Of course, Trump eventually answered that there should be "some form of punishment" for a woman who gets an illegal abortion — a stance from which he quickly backtracked after finding out it wasn't shared by even the staunchest pro-lifers.

Trump endorser Dr. Ben Carson tried to justify the fumble, telling CNN's Erin Burnett, "I don't believe that he was warned that that question was coming."

"Presidents don't get warned what's coming next," Meyers responded. "What's Trump's plan to stop ISIS attacks? Have them add him to their Google calendar?"
