"Nightly Show" host Larry Wilmore last night took a look at the state of the 2016 primary, or, as he calls it, the effort to "de-negro-fy the White House."

"Trump's win [in all five Northeast states on Tuesday] means that he's basically got it locked up," Wilmore explained. "But Ted Cruz still delusional-y thinks he has a chance."

Cruz on Wednesday hyped a "special announcement" during which he announced his VP running mate, Carly Fiorina.

"You picked a running mate?" Wilmore said. "You're not the nominee!"

"At least Carly Fiorina is a serious policy person," he conceded. "She can balance out Ted Cruz's creepiness."

Then, of course, he rolled the clip of Fiorina singing to Cruz's daughters in a dead-quiet auditorium.

"How hard is it to be fucking normal?" he added. "Look, Carly, say anything you want ... whatever you want to do, just don't sing like a creepy young girl from a horror movie, O.K.?"
