The Los Angeles Police Department clarified on Thursday that it is not investigating Brad Pitt for alleged child abuse, contrary to reports.

Earlier Thursday, TMZ reported Pitt, wife Angelina Jolie, "and their kids were on a flight last Wednesday when he allegedly got wasted on the private jet. He allegedly went wild, screaming and getting physical with the kids."

And according to its source, TMZ said, "Someone either on the plane or the tarmac anonymously reported the incident to the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services," which would then be handled by the LAPD.

The L.A.-based gossip site said the incident on the plane led to Jolie's filing for divorce on Monday.

The LAPD told US Weekly, however, it "is not handling any report or allegations into child abuse for Mr. Brad Pitt."
