House Speaker Paul Ryan had a birthday on Sunday, turning 47 years of age. Let's just say he will not remember it fondly.

The young congressman from Wisconsin was greeted on his birthday with derisive messages for his apparent capitulation to the new commander in chief.

Last year, during the contentious presidential campaign, Ryan sent out a tweet that appeared to go against his party's nominee on the issue of a Muslim ban.

But when President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday that imposed a ban on travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries, Ryan was one of the first members of Congress who backed the action.

“This is not a religious test and it is not a ban on people of any religion,” a Ryan spokeswoman said Saturday.

Ryan's support of the ban attracted wide-spread condemnation over the weekend, culminating in a birthday that was jeered by people who are resisting Trump and everyone complicit in his rise to the White House.
