Three-time Oscar nominee Joaquin Phoenix will appear on “Salon Talks” to discuss his role in the anticipated film "You Were Never Really Here,” in theaters April 6, in which he plays a traumatized veteran who tracks down missing girls for a living and is overtaken by his own nightmares. The film, written and directed by Lynne Ramsay and based on the book by Jonathan Ames, received acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2017 where it won the Best Screenplay award and Phoenix took home the Best Actor award.

One of Wu-Tang Clan’s founding members Lamont “U-God” Hawkins reveals the story behind hip-hop’s golden age in New York, including how he met and befriended RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Inspectah Deck, Ghostface Killah and Masta Killa, and formed Wu-Tang Clan. U-God’s new album “Venom” and his memoir “Raw: My Journey into the Wu-Tang” are available now.

Actor Christine Lahti stops by to share stories from her timely essay collection “True Stories from an Unreliable Eyewitness: A Feminist Coming of Age.” The Emmy, Oscar and Golden Globe Award-winning actress and director reveals personal anecdotes that underscore Hollywood's sexist culture and interweaves her most heartbreaking and hilarious moments into the collection.

And Howard G. Buffett wants America to rethink southern border security by bringing the country’s raging opioid epidemic into the conversation. The philanthropist, rancher, sheriff of Macon County, Illinois, and son of Warren Buffett shares his new book, "Our 50-State Border Crisis: How the Mexican Border Fuels the Drug Epidemic Across America,” on SalonTV.

Plus, five-time Grammy Award winner Mary Chapin Carpenter performs an acoustic set of songs off her brand new album "Sometimes Just The Sky.”
