Historical novel meets popular western in "Last Go Round" (Time Warner Audio) as Ken Kesey and Ken Babbs spin a tale about the legendary three-way battle for the first World Bronco-busting Championship. Kesey, '60s Prankster and best-selling author of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," first heard this story from his father around a campfire in Eastern Oregon.

In 1911, the first Pendleton Round-Up pitted three food friends against one another in fierce competition for the bronc-busting title... a battle that carried them up to the "last go round" and that burned a lasting image into the mind of every person who witnessed it. George Fletcher, a popular local black cowboy; Jackson Sundown, A Nez Perce Indian; and Jonathan E. Lee Spain, a spirited young white boy from Tennessee, represented the changing face of the American frontier.

Listen to Kesey read from this tale of race, power and early traditional values in a fascinating time of cultural transition.
