S P E C I A L S Elvis Week: VH1 marks the upcoming 20th anniversary of the King's death with a week of special programming starting off with five big shows tonight. Elvis: The Goods (6:30 p.m.) is a home shopping thing; a special edition of Pop-Up Videos (7:30 p.m.) offers nothing but King clips and factoids; Yasmine Bleeth of "Baywatch" and her dog Elvis host Elvis Lives (9 p.m.), a look at Elvis' (the King, not the dog) lasting influence on pop culture; Elvis' movie career is highlighted in Hollywood & Vinyl (9:30 p.m.); U2's Bono hosts Elvis from the Waist Up (10 p.m.), a retrospective of Presley's early TV appearances. The new cable movie Any Mother's Son (9 p.m., Lifetime) stars Bonnie Bedelia in the true story of a mother whose son is killed in a gay bashing incident. S P O R T S Baseball: Marlins at Braves (7:35 p.m., TBS). Exhibition football: Eagles at Steelers (8 p.m., ABC). S E R I E S Malcolm Forbes is the subject of a new Biography (8 p.m. EDT/9 PDT, A&E). Dateline NBC (10 p.m., NBC) weighs in on Elvis Week with a look at the King's posse, the "Memphis Mafia." T A L K A rerun of David Letterman (CBS) features Drew Barrymore and Better Than Ezra; Charlie Sheen and John Fogerty guest on Jay Leno (NBC); Tom Snyder (CBS) talks with Roger Ebert; Deepak Chopra and Catherine Crier are panelists on Politically Incorrect (ABC); Dana Carvey appears on a rerun of Conan O'Brien (NBC). ETC. More fall premiere dates: ABC has announced that its new doubting priest
drama, Nothing Sacred, which has come under fire from one Catholic
anti-defamation league, will debut on Sept. 18. That's also the premiere
date for Cracker, the American version of the popular British
mystery series. The Practice returns Sept. 20. The new sci-fi series
Timecop, based on the movie of the same name, debuts Sept. 22.
Ellen and The Drew Carey Show open their new seasons Sept.
24. The Wonderful World of Disney premieres Sept. 28. And NYPD
Blue gets back to business on Sept. 30.
