Do you agree with people down here who think the Dead should replace you with David Crosby? It is not for me to say. What is important is the music, that the music continues. There are many talented artists, and it is for the remaining band members to decide who they wish to play with. What can you say to drug users -- and why humans on this planet are so fascinated and dependent on drugs? Humans on Earth are fascinated with drugs as a quick fix and escape. Like any illness, an addiction can actually be the key to healing oneself. But so many don't want to spend the time, put in the effort or take the responsiblity to heal themselves, so they try any shortcut. Shortcuts don't get you there. When you stay on your own path, the rewards are great and won't fade away. Deborah Koons [Garcia's ex-wife] ... what were you thinking? We (Wendy and I) get this question a lot on the radio interviews. Our/her reply is, "He's above all that now."
