Daily Download: "Once Upon a Time," Air

airDepending on the kind of person you are, maybe even depending on your mood at a given time, listening to Air is going to make you feel either extremely cool or vaguely embarrassed. Right now, "Once Upon a Time" has me leaning toward the former. The cyclical piano part and squiggly analog synths again prove that Messrs. Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel are able to make electronic music with a degree of warmth like few others. Air's work can be hit or miss, but their approachable sound is always a welcome relief from much of the cold and metallic music made by so many of their fellow studio synth rats.
