Song of the day: "I Am John," Loney, Dear

The sound of the Swedish invasion -- and it's not ABBA.

For a solid few years now, Sweden has been churning out heartfelt and melodic indie rock like the country's GDP depended on it. Today's song is taken from "Loney, Noir," which, not to be confusing, is Loney, Dear's first album to be widely available in the U.S. Full of folky, winsome music, the album has pushed Loney, Dear to the forefront of the latest Swedish invasion along with bands like Peter Bjorn and John, the Shout Out Louds and Jens Lekman. In the wrong mood, "I Am John's" keening bells and bubbly horns might strike you as sticky sweet, but there's just as much of a chance you'll be charmed by its unabashed effervescence.
