Song of the Day: "Young Folks," Kanye West
From the new free mix tape by rap megastar Kanye West, "Young Folks" is based around a whistled riff taken from the song of the same name by the au courant Swedish rockers Peter Bjorn and John (and which can be found in its original form on the band's excellent "Writer's Block" album). Hearing West rap about his "bag of porn" and how a Rolling Stone interview got "the whole shit wrong" isn't exactly riveting, but the song has a playful, laid-back feel that's pretty much perfect for this time of year.
